“Honestly, it's a great cookbook. It's well written, it has really fun and interesting ideas, and it's easy to read and understand.
Applause to Alex for the book,
Greetings from Bolivia”
“If you have watched Alex, you can hear his voice as you read. [...] I have gone through the entire book and everything is wonderful and makes me hungry as well as want to try my hand at interpreting each and every dish. [...] His energy, giddiness and dedication to his craft come through in every recipe.
I highly recommend this book to any aspiring home chef.”
“I've been following this young Chef's videos for a while now. I love that he presents simple French recipes (as the title says, for beginners) and more. In the book you'll find lots of ideas and possible substitutions, as well as real basic lessons on how to cut onions. I love it.”
“Alex is clever, enthusiastic, funny and highly intelligent. His approach to food is accessible but with a healthy dose of curiosity. Simple ingredients are elevated with technique, a little science, and a lot of love. [...] If nothing else, he’ll teach you to spread the love like butter.”
“Nice addition to my cookbook collection. The recipes don't require much equipment but focus on quality ingredients. His sourdough bread videos on Youtube sparked my interest in making bread for the first time and it is now something I do weekly. It was nice to see the written version in the book.”
“I've been watching Alex for a long time now, and this book lives up to all of my expectations. [...] Alex's no-BS approach will give even the most reluctant of cooks the vital ingredient of confidence. [...] C'est vraiment fantastique!”
“The entire book is wonderful. Written in the 'Alex French Guy Cooking' way which makes his videos so warm, inviting and funny whilst being both very interesting and highly informative. This book has great recipes and tips and tricks; even a few guides to help you combine flavours properly! If you like cooking and want to learn in a non-rigid way, this is the book!”
“If you enjoyed his YouTube channel, you will enjoy his cookbook ! [...] With this book, he teaches you how to make napolitan pizza (OMG they are good), ramen, tartines and sourdough bread, or help you to choose your knives to be a proper chef at home ! [...] In conclusion, follow the guy because Alex is like a good (French) wine, better and better with the years ...”
“He is the same entertaining and educational guy in his book as he is in his videos. I thoroughly am enjoying the book. His hacks and tips are handy, and I really appreciate how he includes alternative names and ingredients for those of us who aren't familiar with Aubergines and other French words. He makes it pretty easy to put together a great dish with what I have already on hand. Humorous and tasty. Great book!”
“I am an experienced cook who is obsessed with cookbooks. Alex has done his research, he knows what he's doing and the recipes in this book are foolproof. I have made a dozen things (just about to try the pizza), and everything came out excellent. [...] This book is great for anyone who's looking to learn but also for the experienced cook looking for inspiration.”
